The R.M. of Tisdale was originally called The RM of Eldersley No. 427 and was incorporated as a rural municipality on December 9, 1912. The RM then changed its name to the RM of Tisdale No. 427 on January 15, 1921.

The RM of Tisdale is home to many great recreational opportunities like the beautiful snowmobile trails that lead to most places in the northeast and are groomed regularly. There is also the Jones Wildlife Sanctuary within the RM that has nice and clean walking trails for everyone to use.
